Brione is an Italian municipality of about 750 inhabitants in the province of Brescia’s Valle Trompia (Lombardy). The town is perched on a hill overlooking the Franciacorta area and borders the municipalities of Gussago and Ome. On the other side are the Valle Trompia municipalities of Polaveno, Sarezzo and Villa Carcina. Its position makes it an ideal vantage point from which to admire the Franciacorta vineyards and the city of Brescia from above. In fact, the Brione sunsets are famous, attracting tourists from Valle Trompia, Franciacorta and Lake Iseo. In addition to the beautiful views, Brione is also known for its trattorias – where traditional Brescian recipes can be savoured – and for the Sagra delle Mele (Apple Festival), an annual event that usually takes place in October.
