{"id":4876,"date":"2022-08-29T06:34:27","date_gmt":"2022-08-29T06:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitvalletrompia.it\/prodotto\/uncategorized\/santuario-della-madonnina\/"},"modified":"2022-09-30T09:45:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T09:45:48","slug":"sanctuary-of-the-madonnina","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.visitvalletrompia.it\/en\/experiences\/activities\/culture\/sanctuaries-and-parish-churches\/sanctuary-of-the-madonnina\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanctuary of the Madonnina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Sanctuary of the Madonnina <\/strong>is familiarly so called because of the small eastern shrine facing the sanctuary where a beautiful 15th-century Maest\u00e0 appears.<\/p>\n<p>Built between 1608 and 1620, it is part of a crucial moment in the architectural production of <span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pier_Maria_Bagnadore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pietro Maria Bagnatore<\/a>, coinciding with the construction of the city sanctuary of San Maria del Lino.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The interior of the Sanctuary of the Madonnina, designed around a central plan, is covered with Marian-themed frescoes. They were painted by the Isean artist <strong>Domenico Voltolini<\/strong> in the second decade of the 18th century in the dome and pendentives, within the stucco squares by the brothers Benedetto and Carlo Antonio Porta (dated 1720). The <strong>sumptuous presbytery<\/strong>, frescoed in the mid-fifties by Paolo Corbellini, was completed in 1765.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Worth noting is the beautifully carved pulpit sculpted in 1713 by the Pialorsi of Levrange, famous <strong>master carvers<\/strong> also known as &#8220;Bosca\u00ec&#8221;, and the frontal of the high altar, by the same artists, which has a painting of the Holy Family dating back to the first half of the 18th century, similar to the manner of Antonio Cifrondi.<br \/>\nThe church was solemnly consecrated on 11 June 1613, as commemorated by the plaque on the right side of the presbytery gate.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sanctuary of the Madonnina is familiarly so called because of the small eastern shrine facing the sanctuary where a beautiful 15th-century Maest\u00e0 appears.
