As if you were to take the route to Mount Guglielmo, the start of the route to the CAI Valtrompia Refuge is located in Piani di Caregno (1002 m), with parking near the Fabbrica restaurant. From here, take the road that crosses the beautiful plateau. During the walk in this first section, you will come across an alternative route on the right leading to the Pesei Farm, a great place to have lunch or a snack (typical products, berries, jams, honey, herbal teas, etc.). Shortly after, you leave the road that leads to Forcellino di Pezzoro and enter the woods. Following the slightly uphill path, you will first pass the junction with the dirt track that goes up to the Stalletti Bassi and Alti Alpine Farmsteads before arriving at Campedei (1160 m). From here, follow a steep mule track, which you will abandon further on, and then a path on the right until you arrive at the Lavacolo Pond (intersecting paths that lead to M. Guglielmo – Gale – Colle di S. Zeno). From here, it is only a 5-minute downhill walk to the CAI Valtrompia Refuge (1259 m). At the refuge, you can enjoy some good home-style cooking. The walk takes about an hour and a half and is particularly suitable for children. It can be done all year round.
